VARSITY PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

WEEK 5

DIVISION 1 –

Offence - Blake Penner went 12 for 16 for 175 yards with no interceptions, while passing to pace the Dakota Lancers offence in week 5. 

Defence - St. Paul’s defensive back Eamon Wallace had two tackles, one interception, one pass defended and a special teams tackle to help St. Paul’s to their most recent win. 

Special Teams - Augustine Nkundimana racked up 122 return yards and recorded on touchdown for the Dakota Lancers in their week 5 victory. 


DIVISION 2 –

Offence - Sisler quarterback, Myles Desmarias, had a big week 5. He went 21 of 28 passing for 383 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also had 85 yards rushing leading to a touchdown on the ground as well. 

Defence - Linebacker Evan Shandroski had a productive week for Sisler as he recorded 12.5 tackles, including 3 sacks, and one forced fumble. 

Special Teams - Sturgeon Heights special teamer Jerome Penner averaged 50 yards on kickoffs, 40 yards on punts, and had two punt returns for 100 yards and a touchdown. 

DIVISION 3 –

Offence - Blake Krueger of the Fort Frances Muskies rushed for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns in their week 5 win.

Defence - Caleb Richards had 11 tackles including 4 tackles for a loss, and 4 assists to pace the the Fort Francis defence in week 5. 

Special Teams - Maples grade 9 special teams player Troy Westwood went 5 for 5 on converts, had 188 yards on 4 punts, averaging 47 yards per punt. He also had a 2 point convert and 1 special teams tackle.
