Week five CTV Players of the Week

Division 1

Offensive – Sawyer Thiessen, QB, Steinbach
Sawyer was 11 for 28 for 129 yds passing with one TD and 1 INT / 11 carries for
144 yds and 2 TD’s in Steinbach’s tough loss to Sisler.

Defensive – James Bruin, LB, Oak Park
James had 12 tackles / two for losses and one forced fumble in Oak Park’s loss to St
Paul’s 1.

Special –  Tyson Bennett, Steinbach: Tyson had a 68-yard kickoff return for a TD and one special teams tackle.

Division 2

Offensive – De’von Young, RB, West Kildonan
De’von had 27 carries for 200 yds and three TD’s in West Kildonan’s win over DMCI
in the toughest of field conditions.

Defensive – Rylan Griffiths, DL, River East with five tackles / three sacks / one forced fumble and six QB pressures in River East’s win over previously undefeated Kelvin.

Honorable mention goes to the Portage Trojans defensive unit with five goal line
stands / five turnovers on downs and a shutout vs Miles Mac.

Special – Isaiah Letander, DT, Kelvin with two special teams tackles in loss
to River East.

Division 3

Offensive – Evyn Melville, RB, Elmwood
Evan had 36 carries for 329 yds / two TD’s / two two point converts in Elmwood’s come
from behind win over Churchill.

Defensive – Jeremy Hampshire, Elmwood
Jeremy had five tackles / one sack in Elmwood’s win over Churchill.

Special – Riley Mckee, Maples Collegiate
Riley had four kickoff returns for 93 yds in Maples tough loss to Ft Frances.
