MAPLES Collegiate graduate Danny Turek has been named the outstanding rookie in the British Columbia Football Conference.
Turek, a member of Manitoba's under-19 team that played in the Football Canada Cup last summer, was also named the top rookie for his Okanagan Sun team.
It has been a record-setting season for Turek, who set team records for receptions (30), receiving yards (685) and touchdowns (six) by a rookie.
The BCFC named its all-stars on Thursday with Oak Park Raiders graduate Andrew Harris named an all-star at running back.
Harris, a member of the Vancouver Island Raiders, led the BCFC in scoring with 18 touchdowns for 108 points, and in rushing with 98 carries for 976 yards.
